Why ERA
Built by people who do the work
ERA Technologies is a Pennsylvania contractor based on Welsh Road in Northeast Philadelphia. We do fiber and low-voltage infrastructure — the physical layer that everything else depends on.
The reason that matters: most of what goes wrong on a fiber job goes wrong in the first hour. A cleave that was not square. A connector that was never cleaned. A splice logged but never traced. None of it shows up until somebody lights the circuit and the loss budget does not close — by which point the crew is two towns away.
So we work the other way round. Prep gets done properly, every splice gets shot, and the traces go in the file before we leave the site.

Travelling further for the right project is normal in this trade. If the job is outside the Mid-Atlantic, ask — we will tell you honestly whether it makes sense for both of us.

ERA is building its field roster right now. Splicers, aerial and underground crews, FTTH installers and low-voltage techs — W-2 or subcontract, both work.
If you are early in the trade and genuinely willing to learn, say so on the application. Some of the best techs in this industry started by pulling cable and paying attention.

Frequently asked questions
What does ERA Technologies actually self-perform?
Fiber splicing and termination, OTDR and OLTS certification, aerial and underground outside-plant construction, FTTH residential installs, data center patching, structured cabling, and IP camera and access-control work. If a scope needs something we do not self-perform, we say so rather than sub it out quietly and mark it up.
Are you a new company?
ERA Technologies LLC was registered in Pennsylvania in September 2026 (entity number 0015907855). We would rather tell you that plainly than pad a website with invented project counts. What we will do is walk your site, quote a written scope and show you certification on the first job — which is a better basis for trust than a number on a homepage.
Do you work as a subcontractor for other contractors?
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We carry insurance, provide a COI and W-9 on request, and price per splice, per foot or lump sum depending on how you prefer to run the job. See Partners.
How fast can you respond to a fiber cut?
Emergency restoration is dispatched 24/7, including weekends and holidays. Response time depends on distance and site access — call and we will give you a real ETA rather than a slogan.
Do you provide test documentation?
Always. Bi-directional OTDR traces, OLTS loss results against the agreed budget, as-built drawings and site photos. The documentation is part of the job, not an upsell.
